Make a Diorama: Urban Heat & Cooling Your Community
Curriculum | Grades 6-8
With the changing climate, our communities are becoming hotter which poses health risks. This is even more strongly felt in urban areas where temperatures are higher due to a lack of green spaces. Thankfully, there are ways we can protect our communities from overheating. In this diorama activity, you’ll find out how to naturally cool down your schoolyard and reduce urban heat.
Materials needed
- The downloadable activity instructions
- Pencil for drawing
- Shoebox for diorama
- Craft supplies for building a diorama (like recycled materials, glue, fabric, paint, etc.)
